Before the pulpit, there was an engineering degree from Washington University in St. Louis — a discipline that trained Jason C. Reynolds to see systems, solve problems, and build things that last. That analytical rigor has never left him. It shows up in how he exegetes a text, how he structures a sermon, and how he leads an organization.
For 14 years he has served as Senior Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church in San Jose — the largest predominantly African American organization in Silicon Valley — leading through financial restructuring, global crisis, and programmatic transformation while maintaining the congregation's status as one of the most significant Black institutions in the Bay Area.
Currently completing a PhD in African American Preaching and Sacred Rhetoric at Christian Theological Seminary, his doctoral research focuses on the effects of Artificial Intelligence on Black preaching — placing him at the forefront of one of the most urgent conversations in the contemporary church.
